The Mayor’s Office of Economic Development provides grants for programs, projects, and events for a wide range of activities that will provide positive economic impact within the County of Maui. Grants funds can be awarded to both non-profit and for-profit organizations.

FY27 Application Deadlines:
- Economic Development Grant Application opens @ 12:00am, April 1, 2026

Attention Applicants
This application process is exclusively for entities applying to the Small Grants Application Program. Applications must meet eligibility requirements and funding limits (≤ $30,000). Submissions that do not align with program criteria may not be reviewed or considered for funding.
Please review program guidelines prior to submitting an application.
Program Overview
The Small Grants Application Program provides funding of up to $30,000 to support projects that deliver clear community and economic benefit within Maui County.
Eligible applicants may include nonprofit organizations, small businesses, and community-based organizations.
Funding Priorities
Priority will be given to projects that:
- Provide measurable community benefit
- Support economic development, workforce, or small business growth
- Are feasible within the proposed timeline and budget
- Demonstrate clear outcomes and impact
- Leverage additional funding or in-kind contributions where possible
Application Requirements
The application is designed to be completed in approximately 15–30 minutes and includes:
- Applicant and organizational information
- Project overview and summary
- Description of need and project activities
- Expected results and outcomes
- Budget and budget narrative
- Optional supporting documents
Funding Parameters
- Maximum request: $30,000
- Projects must align with program goals and community benefit
- Budget must be reasonable and clearly explained
Ineligible Uses of Funds
Grant funds may not be used for:
- Procurement-type activities or services provided directly to the County
- Maintenance of County-owned facilities
- Political or religious activities
- Debt repayment
